What type of property is the mattress for?
All of our mattresses are Contract Source 5. This means that they have been passed to BS7177 British Standards tests to allow them to be sold into commercial properties. The fire test is more rigorous than the domestic fire test to make sure that a naked flame, such as an unextinguished cigarette, will not set light to the fabric and cause a life threatening fire.

What quality of mattress should I buy?
This all depends on your sector and intended user. Our mattress expert, Tyler, has the following recommendations for commercial properties:
Hotels
You can have the best looking hotel on the planet, but when it comes to bedtime, if the mattress isn't comfortable then you can be sure of a bad TripAdvisor review. The right mattress is one of the most important parts of the hotel business. We always recommend a pocket sprung mattress for hotel use. The springs act individually to contour to the user's body and will give the most supportive feel. The other benefit of these is that because every spring is individual, movement on one side of the mattress will not interrupt the other side. All of this along with the luxurious feel and increased longevity is bound to leave your guests refreshed when they turn up for their breakfast.

We use a high quality white fibre filling, which has a better rebound rate, and gives a slightly softer and more luxurious feel to the top of the mattress. Landlords
For landlords, having a durable mattress with longevity is important. We would recommend a mattress with a firm 12.5 gauge spring unit such as the 'LandLord Luxury Mattress'. As well as the heavy duty spring unit, the mattress also has 1000g of fillings on each side, reducing the chance of your tenant feeling any springs through the mattress and therefore increasing the time each mattress can be used. Landlords with tighter budgets may prefer to purchase our 'Landlord Executive' mattress. The same firm spring unit is combined with reduced fillings allowing a cost saving.
Student Accommodation
We supply many universities and student accommodation here at Trade Beds Direct. Most universities change their mattresses every academic year, however, premium student accommodation tend to use higher quality mattresses that are changed with less frequency.
Budget Student Accommodation - Our most popular mattress purchased for this type of property is our 'Waterproof Deluxe Mattress'. With its stain resistant cover and waterproof qualities it serves a perfect purpose for student halls.

Care Homes
Due to the nature of a care home it is important to anticipate accidents. We would always recommend that water-proof mattresses are used with water-resistant bases to allow hoists to operate. Our water-proof mattresses are perfect for the care environment as they feature an easy to wipe clean cover that can save the mattress from having to frequently be replaced.
100% Waterproof Bed - This mattress is sealed in a way that water cannot enter the internals of the mattress providing longevity and ultimate hygiene. These mattresses can be purchased in different qualities.
Water Resistant Bed - This mattress is water-resistant but not 100% water-proof. Due to the stitching on the sides a small amount of residual liquid may get through to the internals of the mattress. This mattress can be made in many different qualities.
